Housing Opportunity Development Corporation is thrilled to announce our participation in the groundbreaking ceremony for the Taylor Place Apartments in McHenry! This exciting event, taking place on April 1st, 2024 at 3:00 pm, marks the culmination of three years of collaborative effort between federal, state, and local government agencies, along with HODC and Northpointe Development Corporation.
A Celebration of Community Development
The groundbreaking ceremony coincides with National Community Development Week, a national movement highlighting the importance of creating strong, inclusive communities. Taylor Place Apartments perfectly exemplifies this ideal. This new development will provide much-needed workforce housing for McHenry County residents, ensuring that essential workers like teachers, medical support staff, and retail employees have access to safe and affordable housing options.

The groundbreaking ceremony will be held at the project site located at 4105 W. Crystal Lake Road in McHenry. Attendees are welcome to park on the southwest side of the property, closest to the intersection of Crystal Lake Avenue and Mill Street. We encourage you to join us as we celebrate this momentous occasion and take a step forward in creating a more vibrant and equitable McHenry County.
