HODC and project partner, Northpointe Development Corporation, will construct three new buildings and adapt an existing structure to create a complex with 22 one-bedroom, 11 two-bedroom and 17 three bedroom units.

The project has been designed to promote the health and well-being of our future residents. It will include a three-story, elevatored apartment building, and a four-unit walk-up style townhome building. An existing two-story, vacant structure will be adapted into four townhomes. A historic office building on the site will be re-purposed into a community facility for residents. It will include a leasing office, a fitness center, and a business center. Garage parking, outdoor play area, bike parking, an outdoor terrace and a community garden are included in the project design.

The development will be targeted to individuals and families with a range of income levels from 30 to 80 percent Area Median Income (AMI).

April 2024 - Taylor Place Project Recognized in Congressional Record

Congressman Bill Foster (11th District of Illinois) rang in Community Development Week by reading into the Congressional Record a statement recognizing Taylor Place.

As Congressman Foster highlighted in his proclamation, Taylor Place Apartments is more than just a construction project – it’s a symbol of hope. It is a testament to McHenry County’s forward-thinking in supporting HODC and Northpointe Development on this project that will incorporate the adaptive reuse of the historic Old Feed Mill into four townhome units, seamlessly blending the area’s rich past with a bright future.
