Hanover Landing - Elgin, IL
Hanover Landing is a 40-unit, amenity-rich Permanent Supportive Housing development that will serve residents living with disabilities—all of whom will live independently and retain all rights of tenancy.
Optional services offered to tenants will be tailored to meet the needs of the individual, and Hanover Township, as the development’s service coordinator, will work with local agencies and organizations to deliver both on-site and off-site community-based services. Resident services may include case management, life skill training, and employment assistance.
The development is the result of years of advocacy and planning on behalf of vulnerable populations in the community. The Hanover Township Board of Trustees established a housing task force to research and analyze housing opportunities within the Township, and the task force recognized a high need for service-enriched housing for its residents with disabilities and special needs. There is currently an enormous shortage of housing options for such residents and existing waitlists for supportive housing are long. In response, the task force formed a partnership with UPholdings to create housing opportunities for the identified population.
