Spruce Village is an apartment building constructed as a permanent supportive housing development. Tenants have access to a full spectrum of supportive services which encourage independent living and are tailored to their individual needs. Under the coordination of HODC, services are made available through a network of community-based service providers.

2023 Mural Project

The tenants of Spruce Village, HODC staff, and community volunteers created a mural in their community room. Led by Colleen Koziara, from Beyond Bingo, the mural reflects the four seasons and different times of day in various natural landscapes, and animals. The project was an opportunity for the participants to build a sense of community while leaving their mark on the building they call home. Allyssa, one of the tenant artists, shares her experience.
